The Savage Beast
Donald P. Goodman III
Version 1.0,
The horse is mad; and yet I still cannot dismount;
attached as to my flesh, I'm pull'd in every way;
jerked back and forth in chaos, I've no hope to count
the ways I'm led, all helpless, like a leaf astray
in cyclone winds, blown randomly the way the storm
should happen it to blow; like me, it has no say
in where its master leads it in the swirling swarm
of madness, wildness, craziness, and disarray.
Command, control the errant flesh; so beat the beast!
Strike back against this ally which will e'er betray!
Fear not to starve this savage which has never ceas'd
to drag us all away from our most vital feast!
