Pursue the Sun
Donald P. Goodman III
Version 1.0,
Pursue the sun! It rises, red, into the sky,
and cannot e'er be quench'd; it rules the green below,
which, nourish'd by its light and heat, grows strong and high,
and drinking of the waters will its glory show.
Pursue the woman, dress'd in white, who wanders there;
who knows the green of life, the joy of warming light;
who knows the sun and grass have purified the air
and purg'd the hateful vapors filling darkest night.
Pursue the woman! She will find you garments white
like hers, which, walking through the meadow, you may wear,
and breath the cleansing atmosphere, and then take flight
after the woman, leading to the sun's good light.
